· A topic will be given to a group on the spot.
· A list of topics will be placed in a box and a volunteer from each group will pick up one topic and willread out to the group.
· As soon as a bell goes, the group willstart discussing the topic.
· One minute will be given to the group to think over and note down the points.
· A group may consist of 5-7 members and the entire discussion may last for 10-12 minutes,depending on the time availability and the decision of the selection committee.
· Everyone will get chance for contribution and no one is expected to dominate and prevent others from expressing ideas.
· The selection committee will be observing the group discussion and evaluate each group member on parameters such as communication skills, familiarity with the topic, general behaviour, inter-personalskills and leadership skills.
· Your adherence to time limit will be appreciated.
· The Selection Committee members will not interfere or make any comments.

• The contestants are required to send only a soft copy of their entry along with an abstract.
• You are required to provide a PDF (Portable Document Format) file of your final written paper.
• Do not password protect or add bookmarks to your PDF file.
• Organizers reserve the right to disqualify any paper that does not fit an appropriate category
• Please bring two hardcopies of your complete paper during presentation (i.e. printed report).

Robomaze

Registration:-

Problem Statement:-

Build a simple wired or wireless robot that can run faster than it’s opponent in the Maze.

1st Round (Robo Race):-

• Robot has to defeat it’s opponent by reaching to the destination first.
• Obstacles will be kept in between the path.

2nd Round (Robo Glow):-

• There are bulbs in the maze, half of the bulb are on and others are off.
• One robot has to turn on the bulb and it’s opponent has to turn it off.
• Team with maximum on or off bulbs at the end of the specified time will be qualified.

Rules:-

• Minimum Two and maximum four students per group.
• Registration will be done in group.
• Maximum size of the ROBOT should be 30 cm x 30 cm x 30cm.
• Size of Maze: 4 m X 4 m approximately.
• Foe wireless robot, participants will have to submit their RF remote prior to the start of the event.
• For wired robot minimum length of wire should be Six meters.
• Touch is allowed with penalty.
• Maximum 12 volt DC battery is allowed.
• Each team will stand outside the maze to control particular bot.
• Your robot have to press SPDT switch to on or off bulbs.
• Team should make sure not to damage the maze or the opponent bot. deliberate attempt to do so will lead to immediate disqualification.
• The organizer decision will be final on issue of conflict.
• The organizer reserves the right to make change of rules and the event pattern. Any significant change will be informed well in advance.

• The selected paper will be published in “International Journal of Research in Advance Engineering”.
• Hard copy of full paper must be submitted at the time of event, it must not exceed 10 pages.
• It is compulsory for participants to bring college I-card at the time of event.
• Please bring the power point presentation in a CD (no USB drive or storage devices are accepted). The presentation must include the name of the participants and the college name.

Chemo Cryst

Registration:-

Objective:-

•To crystallise the given solid material with proper solvent.

Event Description:-

A known amount of solid material (Chemical) will be given to the participants. Four to five different solvents will be provided. The solid material will be solubilised in a one of the given solvents. The cooling mechanism must be used for nucleation growth. Crystals’ quality and quantity will be analysed after filtration and drying.

Rules of the Event :-

1. Students from any discipline and any year can participate in the event.
2. Team Size: maximum 2 participants per team.
3. Registration fees: 50 Rs. per Person.
4. Required chemicals, glass wares and other requirements will be provided.
5. Participants must bring apron along with them.
6. Total Dissolution time: 20 minutes
Cooling time: 10 minutes
Total experiment time must not exceed 60 minutes. Extra time usage will lead to minus marks (-1 marks for usage of every 5 minutes extra for dissolution and cooling mechanism).
7. Further procedure and instructions related to the experiment will be given at a time of event.
8. The decision of judge will be final.

Winning Criteria:-

1. Short list teams on the basis of “Crystal Quantity and Quality (Size & Shape)” gained by crystallisation.
2. Additional marks will be given for Proper justification for solvent selection and Proper justification for usage of other inventories.
3. If quantity of crystal is almost same for two or more teams, short list teams on the basis of bonus points given to the teams. (Go through points 1, 2, 3, 4)
     1. Selection of Solvent and Justification : 2 points
     2. Optimum amount of solvent used : 1 point
     3. Use of Glass Rod for providing excess surface : 1 point
     4. Solute Dissolution time (20 minutes: for every extra 5 min.): -1 Point
     Cooling time (10 Minutes: for every extra 5 min.) : -1 Point
(Note: Consideration of marks for solute dissolution time will be decided by judge: 4th point)
4. If distinguishing team on the basis of bonus points is also difficult, then go through quality check of crystals through naked eyes. (crystal shape, its uniformity and its size)

Pre-Qualifying Round (If the numbers of entries are more than 10):-

• Each team would be given a set of question paper containing 25 multiple choice objective type questions. If necessary the Written Test will be conducted on 15/9/2015 at 3:00 p.m.

• The paper must be typed single-spaced in 12-point Times New Roman or Arial font and be no more than 12 pages. Only text directly related to the item being presented and any accompanying illustrations, tables, figures, etc., will count toward the 12-page limit. Title pages, tables of contents and bibliographies shall not be counted toward the limit.
• All papers should have a bibliography/works-cited page and appropriate footnotes (any format, such as MLA, APA, etc., as long as its use is consistent throughout the document, will be acceptable). Papers omitting a bibliography or using copied material will be automatically disqualified.
• Photographs should be treated as being equivalent to figures, with the caption being placed at the bottom of the photograph. Photocopies of photographs are not acceptable.

In this event, contestants have to prepare a poster that effectively showcases new ideas and innovations pertaining to interdisciplinary fields of engineering. The main idea of the event is to analyze a topic and exhibit presentation skills within the restricted space of expression. Participants are required to present their poster to a panel of eminent judges. The entire presentation must not exceed 20 minutes.


Rules and Regulations:-

All data and figures, including references are to be included on the poster; other presentation aids like slides or pamphlets will not be allowed.

• Contestants will have to register online for the event
• While registering, participants are required to submit an abstract of their idea online. The abstract should not exceed 500 words.

Robo Rugby& Robo Survival

Registration:-

Eligibility:-

• All undergraduate students are eligible to participate in Team
• The team can consist of maximum 4 students.

Machine Specification:-

• The machine should fit within a box of dimensions (300x300x600) mm at the start of the game.
• The Machine should not weigh more than 25 KG with battery.
• Both wireless and wired machines are allowed.
• Use of readymade toy (Lego parts) is not allowed, but one can use the readymade circuits.
• If the machine is wired, the wire must remain slack at all time during the round.
• If the machine is controlled wirelessly, the machine must have a dual frequency remote control to avoid frequency interference with other teams.

Power Supply:-

• The electric voltage anywhere in the machine should not be more than 24V DC at any point of time.
• Only a standard 220V 50Hz AC power supply will be provided at the venue. Converter or any DC supply will be not provided by us.
• In case of machine using external power supply, use of battery eliminator (set at 24V) is essential.
• Use of IC engines in any form is not allowed.

Arena Specification :-

• Arena will consist of various obstacles and tasks and lethal weapons.

Foul/Penalties:-

• The robot is not allowed to go out of the arena or sub zone. If it goes out of arena or sub zone than violation will be considered and accordingly points will be deducted. After that, the participants have to start the game from the starting of that particular zone. While doing so the participants will be allowed.
• to put the robot by hands and one touch as a penalty will be counted.

Rounds:-

• The first round will be the elimination round. In this the participants will have to finish sub zones (containing hurdle) in time limit.
• After the elimination round the difficulty level will be increased in consequent rounds.
